About Canstruction CC
Canstruction is a global effort to end world hunger. This effort was brought to Corpus Christi in 2015 and serves the Coastal Bend Food Bank. Canstruction is a unique event that challenges teams to design and construct colossal structures made entirely out of full cans of food. The can-structures go on display to the public for one week to raise awareness for hunger relief, as well as highlight local design talent. The week-long event is also a fun promotion of STEM principles due to the engineering and math required to design the structures. Teams compete for awards such as Structural Ingenuity, Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, Best Original Design, and more. Following the public display, all food as well as cash donations are sent to the Coastal Bend Food Bank to help in the fight against hunger!
