How Many Teammates Can My Team Have?

We do not limit the number of teammates, however Canstruction Rules & Regulations state that only 5 members can build at once. We typically see a range of 6-15 team members per team.

How Does My Team Get Cans?

Cans can be purchased at any grocery store or can be donated. Teams often collect monetary donations to purchase cans. This gives them the option to choose the specific cans that work best for their design. H-E-B has been a big supporter of Canstruction Corpus Christi and has worked well with our event. Talk to a store manger about how to order a large quantity.

What Is My Team Responsible For?

Teams are responsible for creating their designs including a drawing or model, supplying and delivering cans and building supplies, building your design, and taking it down (de-canstruction).

How Many Cans Will My Team Need?

The number of cans depends on the size of your structure. To determine the number of cans, teams typically draw their design using a program like AutoCAD or similar. Generally, the range of cans used in previous years is between 1,800 - 4,000 cans

What Awards Will My Team Be Competing For?

Canstruction Awards are determined by a panel of judges. They determine winners for the following awards:

• Structural Ingenuity
  
• Best Use of Labels
  
• Best Meal
  
• Best Original Design
• Most Cans

Additionally, Teams are competing for the People's Choice Award which is determined by the number of votes a structure receives during the week the structures are displayed.

All award winners are announced at the Canstruction CC Awards Party.
